Enter the depths of Tantra as we explore the brilliant, terrifying and all encompassing wisdom of the goddess. Join us for a transformative 10-week online immersion into the profound teachings of the 10 Mahavidyas—wisdom goddesses who guide us on the path of non-dual Tantrik yoga.

The Path of the Mahavidyas

Dualistic philosophies that focus on purification and levels of spiritual attainment can leave us in a never ending state of striving or mistaking self improvement for liberation. Non-dual Tantra (Shiva-Shakti worship) on the other hand, points to all experiences as entry points to awakening: “The path by which we fall, is the path by which we rise”. The Tantrika welcomes all of life, giving way to the pulsating awareness beneath experience, recognising that we are already whole and an expression of divinity.

The path of the Mahvidyas, the 10 wisdom Goddesses, opens us to radical unravelling of the way we have been taught to see the world. Each deity acts as unique focal points for deep understanding and contemplation. Each an individual access point or portal to Self-recognition, revealing hidden aspects of ourself, opening shadows buried deep within our body and psyche structures, erasing the illusion of separateness into wholeness. This direct path catapults us out of duality and limited seeing of good/bad, right/wrong, and into seeing all aspects of ourselves, including our pain as an access point to the divine.

Goddess and Mantra

Dasa Mahavidya means not only "ten great wisdoms" but also "ten great mantras". In tantric tradition, the sonic form of a particular deity/wisdom quality is believed to be its true form or essence. A mantra is thus not something we use to get in touch with a certain wisdom; the mantra is the wisdom. Each of the Mahavidyas have a unique sonic vibration, bija and mantra. To harness connection to the great Goddess, contemplate each intimately.

The mantra embodies wisdom itself. The more we repeat the mantra, the more it starts to resonate within us, aligning our own energy with the vibration of the deity. Sally Kempton illustrates this with the analogy of a teabag gradually infusing a cup of water with its flavor, or a piece of fruit that becomes sweeter the more we bite into it.

Mantra is viewed as an embodiment of the deity or personality, and tradition advises against using it frivolously. Instead, the mantra becomes effective when we engage with it sincerely. We should not misuse or underestimate its significance, particularly with bija mantras, which are believed to encompass profound qualities of wisdom. We have shared mantras associated with each Mahavidya below, passed on to us through our teachers, to ignite and harness the sacred connection to the Goddess.

Course Overview

Each week we will explore one Mahavidya through Satsang, Sadhana, Mantra, Embodiment Practice and group process. This journey offers an opportunity to immerse ourselves into Tanktrik awakening as part of and not separate from our daily lives.

The Mahavidyas - ten wisdom goddesses - invite us to radically shift our perception of the world, challenging us to unravel the conditioned ways we have been taught to see. Each deity serves as a focal point for deep understanding and contemplation, acting as a unique portal to self-recognition. They illuminate hidden aspects of our being and reveal the shadows within our bodies and psyches, dissolving the illusion of separateness and guiding us toward wholeness. This direct path liberates us from duality, enabling us to embrace all facets of ourselves, including our pain, as pathways to the divine.

Through the integration of somatic practices and non-dual Tantrik philosophy, we engage in a transformative alchemy of embodiment, exploring our bodies as microcosms of the macrocosm. We will investigate ancient scriptures that serve as codes and maps, leading us to freedom within our cells, organs, systems, and energy lines.
