Non-Dual Kashmir Shaivism, often simply called Kashmir Shaivism or Trika Shaivism, is a rich philosophical and spiritual tradition that originated in the Kashmir valley around the 8th to 9th century CE. It offers a non-dual perspective on reality and consciousness, viewing the ultimate reality as a singular, all-encompassing divine consciousness identified with Shiva.
In contrast, Neo-Tantra is a modern Western interpretation of traditional Tantric practices that emerged in the 20th century. It focuses on aspects like sacred sexuality, emotional intimacy, and personal growth, rather than the rigorous rituals found in traditional teachings. Formed in the context of the 1960s counterculture and popularized by figures such as Osho, Neo-Tantra incorporates a blend of spiritual, psychological, and body-based techniques.
The mythic Movement is rooted in non dual tantra and although influenced by modern developments of embodiment and relational connection this is not a neo tantra school and will not be exploring tantric sex rituals.
